High temperature record set Monday

It was definitely warm yesterday. So warm we crushed a temperature record for January 29.

According to Environment Canada, the mercury climbed to 11.1 degrees Celsius on Monday, eclipsing the old temperature record of 8.4 degrees Celsius set in 1998. And just for fun, the coldest January 29 on record was -43.3 degrees Celsius set in 1969.

And it’s likely we could set another record today as the forecast is for a high of 10 degrees Celsius. The current high temperature record for January 30 is 8.4 degrees Celsius, set in 1992.
