Prince George Secondary School will host a data science hackathon on January 12, welcoming 100+ local junior high students to each event.
The event is organized by Callysto, a federally funded learning program that is bringing data science and digital literacy skills to Canadian classrooms. The hackathon aims to help students develop their problem-solving and computational thinking skills through interactive drawing with Python and data science challenges. Students can choose from a variety of challenges, including controlling a virtual robot, drawing a Pokémon character, and analyzing basketball data, through code.
Quick facts:
- Callysto is facilitated by the non-profit organizations Cybera and the Pacific Institute for the Mathematical Sciences. It is funded under the national CanCode
