Prince George RCMP was kept busy during the holiday season, targeting impaired drivers through the month of December.
“We issued a total of 46 driving suspensions in December, mostly for alcohol-related impaired driving offenses, but nearly a third were for drug-related impaired driving offences,” said Cpl. Jennifer Cooper, Media Relations Officer for the Prince George RCMP. “The message we are trying to convey to drivers is that there are safer alternatives to impaired driving and the consequences can be steep if you choose to drive impaired.”
In total, PGRCMP issued the following suspensions in December:
- 24-hour driving suspension due to drugs x 14
- 24-hour driving suspension due to alcohol x 3
- 3-day driving suspension due to alcohol x 5
- 90-day driving suspension due to alcohol x 24
