Caledonia Nordic Ski Club signs on as presenting sponsor for upcoming World Cup events

The Caledonia Nordic Ski Club will be the presenting sponsor for the upcoming 2024 Para Biathlon World Championships and Para Nordic World Cup Finals.

Demonstrating unwavering commitment, the club has contributed a significant $150,000 towards capital infrastructure improvements and will provide invaluable volunteer support and the use of its top-tier facilities.

“The involvement of Caledonia Nordic Ski Club as the presenting sponsor is a game-changer,” said Kevin Pettersen, Chair of the local organizing committee. “Their remarkable contribution and volunteer support are pivotal in transforming these championships into a global showcase. This partnership not only elevates our club on the international stage but also brings
lasting legacies to our community and region, such as enhanced snowmaking and accessibility improvements.”

Dimitrije Lazarovski, International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS) Director for Development Programmes, commented on the significance of this sponsorship: “The commitment shown by Caledonia Nordic Ski Club is exemplary.
Their support goes beyond financial contribution; it’s about enhancing the sport’s profile and creating a welcoming environment for all participants.”

Tomi-Pekka Riihivuori, Para Biathlon Coordinator from the International Biathlon Union (IBU) added, “This is a testament to the club’s dedication to the advancement of Nordic sports. Their role as the presenting sponsor and host sets
a high standard for international events in terms of facility preparedness and community involvement.”

Lanita Horning, President of the Board for Caledonia Nordic Ski Club, expressed her enthusiasm: “Our club has always been at the forefront of promoting Nordic sports. Hosting the 2024 World Championships and stepping up as the Presenting

The sponsorship from Caledonia Nordic Ski Club is complemented by contributions from other operational and capital funding partners, including The City of Prince George, the Province of British Columbia, the Regional District of
Fraser-Fort George, Northern Development, Tourism Prince George, FIS and IBU.

The 2024 Para Biathlon World Championships and Para Nordic World Cup Finals, set to welcome over 120 athletes from around 20 nations, promise to be an unmissable event. The local organizing committee extends an open invitation to the business community to join in sponsoring this international sporting spectacle.

The championships in March 2024 are not just an opportunity to witness top-tier athletic performances; they are a celebration of the human spirit and the power of community.
