The 2022 annual report for the Foothills Boulevard Regional Landfill was received by the Regional District of Fraser-Fort George board Thursday. Highlights of the report include:
- a total of 114,440 tonnes of material was managed at the Foothills facility
- 40,023 tonnes of material received at the landfill were diverted through recycling, onsite use as cover material
- approximately 74,417 tonnes of waste was buried at the facility from January 1, 2022 to December 31, 2022
- 6,328.7 tonnes of yard and garden waste were received in 2022 and a total volume of composted material sold in 2021 was 6,034 cubic meters
- based on the volume and site life aFoossessment, the estimated lifespan of cell #1 will extend beyond 2027
