At approximately 6:57 p.m. on Tuesday, December 12, Prince George Fire Rescue responded to a reported residential structure fire in the 8000 block of St. John Crescent.
A total of 20 Firefighters responded from three halls. When crews arrived, they found a large volume of smoke and flames coming from the residence.
Crews used handlines and a master stream to extinguish the fire over several hours.
One occupant of the house was transported to hospital for observation.
No Fire Rescue staff were injured during firefighting operations.
Damage to the home was extensive, estimated at $500,000.
