The 2024 Para Biathlon World Championships and Nordic World Cup Finals, set to take place from March 5 – 17, 2024, at the Caledonia Nordic Ski Centre, are calling upon the community of Prince George for volunteer support.
The local organizing committee emphasizes the need for volunteers across various roles, including course, ceremonies,
biathlon event support, security, tansportation, venue, and hosting.
“Volunteers are the backbone of our event,” said Kevin Pettersen, chairperson of the local organizing committee. “Their
dedication and enthusiasm bring the championships to life. This is an incredible opportunity to be part of a world-class event and to showcase the vibrant community spirit of Prince George on an international stage.”
“Our volunteers don’t just give their time; they become part of a community that creates unforgettable experiences,” said Vonda Hofferd, volunteer coordinator. “Every role, from course preparation to helping in ceremonies, is critical in making the event a welcoming and inclusive experience for our athletes and guests.”

Reflecting on the 2019 World Para Nordic Ski Championships, volunteer Heather Sanford said: “Volunteering in 2019 was an experience I’ll always cherish. Being so close to the action and witnessing the determination of the athletes was inspiring. It was more than just volunteering; it was about being part of something bigger, a celebration of human spirit and resilience.
