Cause of travel-trailer fire suspected to be electrical

At approximately 11:26 a.m. on Friday 17 November 2023, Prince George Fire Rescue responded to a report of an outbuilding fire in the 7000 block of Old Summit Lake Road.

First in arriving crews reported heavy smoke coming from the opening of a barn. The crews made entry into the structure where they were able to confine the flames to a 30-foot travel trailer. Once the trailer was clear of any other structures the trailer was extinguished.

Damage from this fire was estimated to be $80,000.

The cause of the fire is suspected to be electrical.

Prince George Fire Rescue would encourage everyone to use space heaters cautiously through the winter season.
