Speed skaters slide into Kin 1 this weekend for BC Cup

The Prince George Blizzard Speed Skating Club is hosting some of the best skaters in the province this weekend (Nov 17-19) for Speed Skating BC’s Academy and BC Cup at Kin 1.

The Academy kicks off Friday and will be a day full of valuable training, learning, and team building for all athletes, coaches, and officials in preparation for BC Cup and upcoming competitions throughout the province and country.

BC Cup starts Saturday through Sunday, where local skaters like Megan Vansickle, Eli Bernard, and Pareesa Jones will be racing the best in the province.

For many skaters, this is great preparation for the Lhtako Quesnel 2024 BC Winter Games and BC Short Track Provincials in Abbotsford. Our younger up-and-coming skaters will be competing on their home ice this weekend as well.

Racing is set to start at approximately 10 a.m. on Saturday. Schedule changes will be shared on Facebook and Instagram.
