A long-awaited collision between two Canadian professional wrestling titans is scheduled to take place in Prince George on Saturday night as the Primetime Wrestling Heavyweight champion “Mr. Beefy Goodness” Vance Nevada defends against Prince George’s Stuart Brown, aka “The Mauler”.
This is a match that President Davy Greenlees has been trying to secure for several months, featuring two of the most experienced and well-travelled wrestlers in Canada of their generation.
“This is a match that the wrestling fans of northern B.C. have been asking to see for some time,” said Greenlees. “The challenge has been trying to firm up a date when the champion is available. Since winning the belt in March, Vance Nevada has competed in 49 matches from Vancouver Island to Prince Edward Island, so it has been really hard to nail down a date to bring him to Prince George. I’m glad to say we have signed the contract for Saturday night.”
There is a long rivalry between the two competitors and with the stakes as high as they are for the title fight, Greenlees has secured the services of Kelowna referee Kevin Jefferies to oversee the fight. Jefferies was recently honored at a gala dinner in Las Vegas for his lifetime contribution to the sport as an official. Jefferies has officiated world title matches featuring the likes of Hulk Hogan (WWE) and Adam Pearce (NWA) among others.
