Launch of Adventure Hub provides new online resource for outdoor enthusiasts

The B.C. Search and Rescue Association has launched Adventure Hub – a new online custom-built platform designed for recreation users in British Columbia.

What is the Adventure Hub?

  • A free online custom database for outdoor enthusiasts to explore new possibilities
  • Houses more than 450 vetted listings (this will continue to grow over time)
  • Offers 24 categories to choose from plus other search options using multiple filters
  • Has eight provincial regions to explore as well as an “online only” option
  • Convenient, saves time and allows more complete adventure planning from home
  • Includes resources and training on how to enjoy the outdoors safely

How to use the hub

No account is necessary and any user can easily browse general categories or refine a search that quickly reveals outdoor opportunities and helpful information for the whole family. Examples of what you’ll find on the hub include:

  • Listings across 24 categories, many that are activity-specific
  • Connections to outdoor clubs, local knowledge venues, training courses, gear sales and rentals, tourism listings and Indigenous organizations
  • Ideas for youth and family activities or weekend getaways
  • Videos, webinars, podcasts and popular must-have apps
  • Listings for safe play such as weather, avalanche awareness, road conditions and trip planning
  • All search and rescue groups across the province (Note: Please do not contact SAR groups directly if you need help. Always call 911 to request help.)

As a reliable ‘one-stop-shop’ for enthusiasts and a free database for outdoor recreation organizations and businesses, the Adventure Hub will be updated regularly and will continue to grow over time. Users are encouraged to bookmark the site and check back before heading out on every new adventure.

Helping the hub grow

Listings are free and any organization with relevance to BC outdoor recreation can request a listing. On every listing  (above the map), there are two email options – one for adding or changing a listing and one to report an error. The association encourages everyone to suggest listings that should be included.

Feedback is also welcome to improve this new resource so that all users can fully enjoy it. The Adventure Hub can be found at https://bcsara.com/directory-adventurehub/
