Canadian Home Builders’ Association elects new executive

The Canadian Home Builders’ Association (CHBA) Northern BC hosted its annual general meeting (AGM) last week in Prince George and a broad spectrum of expertise connected to the home-building sector was well represented.

At the helm as the president is Angèle Heinrichs, owner and operator of Angèle’s Drafting & Design based in Fort St. John. Specializing in a variety of drafting services which include EnerGuide home evaluations, new home design plans, home renovations, building floor plans, field reviews, orthographic drawings, and as-built drawings, her background includes working for structural engineer firms and manufacturing facilities.

Heinrichs is invested in a variety of initiatives which elevate women in trades and is a member of the provincial CHBA Technical Research and Step Code Council Committees.

Shay Bulmer, an owner of Northern Homecraft based in Vanderhoof, will remain active in the role of past president. He also lends his time and expertise as a member of the CHBA-BC Board of Directors and the Government Relations Committee.
Board members of the CHBA Northern BC are leaders in the residential construction industry working to shape informed policy, test building science to build energy efficient homes, raise the bar in the home renovation market and work together to share knowledge and experience and advocate for resilient trades training. The CHBA is a tri-level, membership driven association serving at the regional, provincial, and national level and members donate their time across the country to advocate for housing affordability. The residential construction industry is one of Canada’s largest employers.

The general office of the CHBA Northern BC is in Prince George and the association produces the annual spring Northern BC Home & Garden Show, the Housing Awards of Excellence & Gala and delivers various industry education events and outreach. The association is a long-time and dedicated supporter of the Prince George Palliative Care Society and members support the annual Dream Home lottery house.
