One man has been arrested following an incident at First Avenue and George Street Tuesday.
Police were called out just before 9 a.m. to a complaint of a man threatening people with a knife in the area.
Police officers immediately flooded the area and in less than five minutes found a man matching the description of the suspect a short distance away. The man was arrested for uttering threats and for possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and was subsequently transported to Prince George RCMP detachment cells.
“The suspect is known to our Downtown Safety Unit for similar offences. He was released on an undertaking with conditions and will attend court at a future date,” said Cpl. Jennifer Cooper, Media Relations Officer for the Prince George RCMP.
The investigation is ongoing. No injuries were reported to police in this incident.
