David MacLeod given life sentence for murder

David MacLeod, 27, was sentenced to life in prison Wednesday on a second degree murder charge.

MacLeod was arrested shortly after a murder on Pulpmill Road on April 10, 2021. MacLeod was also sentenced to seven years and five years to be served concurrently for the aggravated assault of the two other victims in this incident. He will not be eligible for parole for 12 years.

“The investigation started with an excellent response from the frontline police officers involved and is a good example of some of the great work done at this detachment through collaboration of several support units, such as the Serious Crime Unit and Forensic Identification Section,” said Staff Sergeant Scott Stoughton, commander of the Prince George RCMP General Investigative Section.
