Prince George RCMP is unveiling a new section of its website; the webpage is titled Can You Identify These Individuals?
and will be where residents can go to view surveillance photos of people suspected of committing a crime.
If you have any information, please contact Prince George RCMP at 250-561-3300. If you wish to remain anonymous, contact Northern B.C. Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).” Underneath the caption are links to media releases asking for identification of suspects from the public. There are links along the right hand side of the webpage for Missing Persons, Wanted Persons and the Can You Identify These Individuals galleries. The Non Emergency Line phone number, 250-561-3300, is shown beneath the links.
“We have a good working relationship with the Loss Prevention Officers from many stores in Prince George, who provide us with surveillance photos of people suspected of shoplifting, for example. This is a place where we can display these images, in the hopes that someone will recognize the suspects and provide us with that information,”said
Cpl. Jennifer Cooper, Media Relations Officer for the Prince George RCMP.
Shoplifting is one type of crime that will be showcased on the new webpage, but it is not the only type. Any investigation where police are looking for assistance from the public to identify a person or vehicle will be available for viewing on the new webpage.
