Pedestrian hit by vehicle on First Avenue; police looking for witnesses

At 11:45 p.m. on Tuesday, August 1, Prince George RCMP was called to the 1800-block of First Avenue for a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle.

Witnesses state the pedestrian was crossing the road northbound when she was struck by an oncoming vehicle. She was transported to hospital by Emergency Health Services with serious, but non-life-threatening, injuries. The driver stayed at the incident location and is cooperating with the investigation.

“Police are looking for any witnesses who saw the incident occur or for anyone with dash cam footage that may have captured the event. If you have any information for police that will assist with this investigation, please call the non-emergency line at 250-561-3300,” Cpl. Jennifer Cooper, Media Relations Officer for the Prince George RCMP.

The investigation is ongoing.
