Evacuation order for Anahim Peak fire area

An evacuation order has been issued by Cariboo Regional District at the Emergency Operations Centre (EOC)  for 38 parcels in the Anahim Peak area.  This order covers 15 870 hectares. This order is replacing the Fire # C51571 area order issued on July 11, 2023 at 11:15 pm.  The fire is 1,950 hectares in size and out of control

Due to immediate danger to life safety due to fire, members of the RCMP or other groups will be expediting this action.

Evacuation route:  

  • Head SOUTHEAST on Dean River Road
  • At the junction of Dean River Road with Highway 20 turn EAST (left) onto Highway 20
  • Follow Highway 20 EAST until you arrive in Williams Lake

WHAT YOU SHOULD DO:

  • You must leave the area immediately
  • Gather your family; take a neighbour or someone who needs help.
  • Take pets in pet kennels or on leash.
  • Take critical items (medicine, purse, wallet, and keys) only if they are immediately available.
  • Close all windows and doors; Close gates (latch) but do not lock.

  • Do not use the telephone unless you need emergency service.
  • Do not use more vehicles than you have to.
  • To receive Emergency Support Services, please call 250-267-4861.  In addition, you may self-register using the Evacuee Registration & Assistance (ERA) tool at https://ess.gov.bc.ca/, (if not already done)
  • Emergency Support Services will be provided only if your primary residence is on an evacuation order.
