Bus that crashed north of Prince George Friday was carrying Coastal GasLink workers

Coastal GasLink has confirmed the bus that crashed on the Firth Lake Forest Service Road Friday was transporting workers from one of the company’s work camps.

“Seventeen of the 18 individuals have been safely discharged, while one continues to be under observation,” according to a statement issued by the company. “We are grateful for the care provided by hospital teams and the support shown by communities.”

Seven ground ambulances from Prince George and Mackenzie, along with three BCEHS support units, and multiple frontline police officers were dispatched to the location.

University Hospital of Northern BC in Prince George declared a Code Orange to support the response to the incident. The Code Orange has since been lifted.
