Walk to Cure Diabetes set for June 11

JDRF is holding the Sun Life Walk to Cure Diabetes for JDRF on June 11, 2023, supporting families impacted by type 1 diabetes (T1D) both in the community and across the country.

The Sun Life Walk to Cure Diabetes for JDRF is the largest fundraising event in Canada that brings together the T1D community to unite and raise funds for T1D research. The Walk serves as a special opportunity to bring together those connected to T1D and raise critical funds to accelerate research towards cures.

Taking place on June 11, at 10 a.m. at the Central BC Railway & Forestry Museum, the Sun Life Walk will bring friends of the T1D community together in support of the thousands of families living with T1D in the Cariboo.

Event volunteers have organized a fun-filled event on museum grounds–admission by donation. Join us for train rides by donation, face painting ($5/person, proceeds to JDRF), music by Tyecon Tunes, coffee by Starbucks Pine Centre, fun & games led by Sun Life, and a craft station by Two Rivers Art Gallery. We’ll also have lunch available for purchase on-site, a photobooth sponsored by Nechako Rotary, and a hydration station from Save-On Foods Parkwood.

Visit our sponsor booths to fill up your passport and be entered into a draw for an amazing Prince George staycation.

This event is sponsored by Sun Life Financial along with National Media Sponsor Bell Media, National Premiere Partner Abbott, and National Supplier SunRype.
