Fatal crash prompts safe driving reminder ahead of summer travel

A fatal crash that occurred at the end of last week is prompting Prince George RCMP to issue a safe driving reminder to motorists.

Police officers responded to a report of a single-vehicle crash near Salmon Valley just before midnight on Thursday, April 27. When they arrived at the location, the responding officers found the sole occupant of the vehicle deceased. Investigators determined that speed and alcohol were likely contributors in the crash.

“With the summer weather finally arriving, and ahead of the May long weekend coming up, Prince George RCMP is reminding motorists to make safe and responsible choices while driving,” said Cpl. Jennifer Cooper, Media Relations Officer for the Prince George RCMP. “This means keeping your speed within the posted speed limit, staying sober while driving, and being courteous to other road users.”
