ERT called in to help execute search warrant at Westmount Dr. residence for the second time

Prince George RCMP, with the assistance of the North District Emergency Response Team, executed a search warrant at a residence on the 6600-block of Westmount Drive on Friday, March 31.

The search was conducted in relation to an ongoing police investigation into possible identity theft, and resulted in two arrests. The B.C. Prosecution Service approved the following charges against 43-year-old, Prince George resident Vanessa Leona Clarke:

  • Identity Fraud
  • Possession of an Identity Document
  • Fail to Comply with Probation x2

The second suspect was released back to the community.

This is the second time in two months that police have attended this residence. On February 14, 2023, the Prince George RCMP’s Street Crew Unit, with the assistance of the Emergency Response Team, executed a search warrant at the residence in relation to a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act investigation. During this search, a large quantity of suspected cocaine and drug trafficking paraphernalia was seized by police. One person was arrested and was subsequently released to the community, pending the full results of the investigation.

“Police utilized the Emergency Response Team in both instances based on a number of identified risk factors. The Emergency Response Team is trained to help mitigate the risk to both public and police safety in situations where we believe there to be an increased potential for violence,” said Cpl. Jennifer Cooper, Media Relations Officer for the Prince George RCMP.

Both files remain under investigation.
