The Exploration Place is currently conducting research to inform its upcoming strategic planning session in May 2023.
This is so important in its evolution. Research to inform the strategic planning session includes
surveys and interviews of staff, board members, volunteers, members, visitors, sponsors, supporters, partners and local First Nations.
The new strategic plan will guide The Exploration Place to meet the needs of its visitors and communities over the next three to five years.
The Exploration Place is a non-profit organization and registered Canadian charity whose goals are to preserve local history and foster lifelong learning in science, technology, heritage, and culture. The museum has taken a leadership role in our region since its inception in 1958 and has been offering quality educational programming for over two decades.
The Exploration Place is the largest museum and the only science centre in northern B.C. and is an important cultural asset for the region and province. It is the designated collections and archival repository for the City of Prince George, the Regional District of Fraser-Fort George, and the Lheidli T’enneh Nation.
More than 100,000 people visit each year, including visitors to Prince George and the region. The Exploration Place provides educational and cultural programming for all ages, heritage and curatorial services, and a community gathering space.
Results from this research will be shared in a “what we heard summary” to inform the strategic planning process. The survey takes seven to 10 minutes to complete and closes on April 9. Everyone who participates in the survey will be entered to win a family membership for The Exploration Place.
