The Prince George Cougars dropped their first game on their three-game home-stand to the Saskatoon Blades by a 5-2 score, Tuesday at the CN Centre.

Zac Funk and Jaxsen Wiebe had the Cougar goals, while Tyler Brennan made 21 saves on 26 Saskatoon shots.

Despite a strong opening period from the Cougars and limiting the Blades to just three shots, the game was scoreless after the opening 20 minutes.

In the second, Zac Funk got the scoring started just under two minutes in to get the Cougars ahead. Jordan Keller found the equalizer in the final minutes on the power-play to get the game tied. The Cougars put together another good period, however, the game remained tied after two.

The Blades turned the game upside down in the final frame, rattling off four goals in 2:09 to get them ahead 4-1. Jordan Keller, Spencer Shurgue, and Charlie Wright all scored to open it up for the visitors. Egor Sidorov added to the offense, netting his 31st of the season to make it 5-1 on the power-play. The Cougars got a late marker from Jaxsen Wiebe, however, it was too late as the Blades held on for the 5-2 victory.
