Police looking for witnesses after shooting incident in 1600-block of 15th Avenue

Police are looking for witnesses following a report of shots fired in the 1600-block of 15th Avenue.

On Wednesday, January 18, at 7:45 p.m., Prince George RCMP responded to a complaint of shots fired near a retail store on the 1600-block of 15th Avenue. Witnesses stated they saw two men in an altercation and then heard a shot. Neither the victim nor the suspect stayed at the location but immediately fled the area. The vehicle the suspect fled in is described as an older model white or gold coloured four-door car.

“We are now looking for anyone who was in the area that witnessed the altercation and can provide police with a better description of the suspect or their vehicle, or who may have cell phone or dash cam footage of the incident. If you have information on this incident, please call the non-emergency line at 250-561-3300 to speak with an investigator. Please quote file number 2023-1901,” said Cpl. Jennifer Cooper, Media Relations Officer for the Prince George RCMP.

The victim, who is known to police, was later located at the hospital suffering from a non-life-threatening injury.

The file remains under investigation.
