MEDCINE HAT, AB – The Prince George Cougars dropped their third straight contest on their seven-game road swing, falling 5-2 to the Medicine Hat Tigers, Tuesday at Co-op Place.

Viliam Kmec and Chase Wheatcroft had the Cougar goals, while Tyler Brennan made 19 saves on 20 shots in 39:30 of work after relieving Ty Young in the first period.

Cayden Lindstrom got the scoring started for the Tigers just under two minutes into the game. The Tigers added two more in the period getting goals from Andrew Basha and Shane Smith (power-play) to make it 3-0. Tyler Brennan came in to relieve Young after allowing 3 goals on 7 Medicine Hat shots.

In the second, the Cougars got some looks and were finally able to capitalize. A Viliam Kmec shot from the right circle snuck its way through goaltender Beckett Langkow to get the Cougars on the board. PG was down 3-1 heading into the final period.

It didn’t take the Tigers long to re-gain their lead when they went to an early power-play and converted. Andrew Basha put in his second goal of the game to put the Tigers ahead 4-1. The Cougars would get a goal back on the power-play, late in the game, courtesy of the WHL’s power-play leading scorer Chase Wheatcroft.

The Tigers then responded with an empty netter to put the game without of reach, defeating PG 5-2.
