The Regional District of Fraser-Fort George board is proceeding with establishing a proposed service to support Dore River armouring management and maintenance.
In 2020, the Dore River flooded, causing significant damage to many properties along the river just west of McBride. The regional district applied for grant funding for armouring works to minimize damage from future high flow events. A condition of the grant funding is that the armouring works must be owned by the regional district so the proposed service will provide funding for any management and maintenance those works may require once constructed.
