Cougars blow lead and lose in OT

The Prince George Cougars were ahead 2-0 after 40 minutes, but saw the lead slip way, as they fell 4-3 in overtime to the Tri-City Americans, Friday at the Toyota Centre.

The Cougars jumped out to an early 2-0 lead getting goals from Koehn Ziemmer and Hudson Thornton just over two minutes apart. Prince George took a 2-0 lead to the dressing room after 20 minutes.

In the second, Ty Young held his club in the game, making some massive saves to keep the Cougars ahead by a pair of goals after 40 minutes.

In the third, things started to open up. Deagan McMillan got the Americans on the board to make it 2-1. Shortly after, Ryker Singer re-gained the Cougars two-goal lead scoring on a breakaway. The Cats got into penalty trouble as the period progressed, and it gave Tri-City momentum for the remainder of the period. Jordan Gavin got the game within one, followed up by a late tying goal from McMillan who scored his second of the game. The Cougars got more incredible saves from Ty Young to keep the game tied after 60 minutes.

In overtime, Tyson Greenway was able to get his own rebound and put it by Young to give the Americans a come from behind victory over the Cougars, 4-3.
