The Prince George Cougars opened the scoring early in the first period, but the visiting Regina Pats replied with five unanswered goals in a 5-1 win at a sold-out CN Centre Friday.
The Pats rebounded from a tough loss in Kamloops on Wednesday. Special teams were vital as the Pats went two-for-five on the powerplay and a perfect seven-for–seven on the penalty kill as they leave B.C. with a 4-1 record.
Four different Pats scored in the win, led by Connor Bedard who sniped his 25th and 26th of the season led the way. Tye Spencer (seventh), Tanner Howe (17th), and Easton Armstrong (eighth) added singles to round out the scoring. Drew Sim was stellar in net as he stopped 30 of 31 shots directed his way to pick up his ninth win of the season.
Caden Brown (eighth) replied for the Cougars while Ty Young stopped 24 of 29 shots in the loss.
