The Prince George Cougars saw their four-game winning streak end, falling 4-1 to the Kamloops Blazers, Saturday at the CN Centre.
Riley Heidt had the lone Cougars marker which came in the second period and was unassisted.
The Kamloops Blazers got the scoring started in the opening period with Ashton Ferster scoring his first as a Blazer to get them ahead. Prince George had some looks towards the goal, including a Riley Heidt one-timer in the final seconds, but Blazers netminder Dylan Ernst made a terrific save.
The Cougars got the game tied with Heidt sneaking one by Ernst, but Kamloops responded just under two minutes later. Caedan Bankier got the Blazers back ahead and shortly after, Fraser Minten hammered a one-timer to put Kamloops ahead 3-1 after two periods.
In the third, Bankier scored a highlight-reel goal that came shorthanded just 40 seconds into the third. The Cougars out-shot the Blazers in the third but could not solve Ernst as the Blazers held on for a 4-1 victory.
