Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for Prince George as Old Man Winter is rambling into town.
Poor visibility in heavy snow and local blowing snow are expected Thursday and Thursday night.
Communities along Highway 97 from Clinton to the Pine Pass and surrounding areas; communities near the western slopes of the Cariboo Mountains; communities along Hwy 16 from McGregor to Fraser Lake; Mackenzie; and Fort St. James will be impacted.
Total snowfall accumulation: 10 to 20 centimetres are expected with winds from the southeast at 30 km/h gusting to 60 km/h.
The snow will end Thursday overnight or early Friday morning as rising freezing levels cause precipitation to transition to rain.
