Prince George’s Citizen Budget is back, and residents can once again share their views on what they believe the City of Prince George’s budget priorities should be for 2023. The survey period runs from October 24, 2022 to November 13, 2022.
As in previous years, the Citizen Budget simulator and survey lets participants experiment with city budget allocations for various municipal services. Respondents enter their property tax assessment into the platform to see their tax dollars distributed across city operations like roads and transportation. They can adjust funding allocation values for an idea of how changes to service levels affect their tax bill.
Once participants complete the survey, the survey results will be compiled into a report for Council to be used as part of the information they consider during their budget 2023 deliberations.

The Citizen Budget platform was introduced in Prince George in 2015 as part of the City’s period of public consultations. The platform is a public engagement tool to collect feedback from communities about municipal service budget allocations and helps residents understand how municipal governments put citizen tax dollars to work.
