The Exploration Place Museum and Science Centre set to re-open October 29

The grand re-opening of The Exploration Place Museum and Science Centre in Prince George is set for Saturday, October 29.

Initially, The Exploration Place was closed to the public in March of 2020 due to COVID-19. The executive took the unexpected opportunity offered by this closure to renovate the building and was looking at a re-opening date of early summer 2022. However, supply chain issues and labour shortages further postponed the hrand re-opening, which was disappointing, but another consequence of the pandemic.

Today, museum announced it is ready to open with brand new experiences for visitors.

“Every renovation has its challengesm,” said Chief Executive Officer Tracy Calogheros. “Although it took longer than anticipated, we feel that we have done our due diligence to honour the vision so that we can properly serve everyone who comes through the doors.”

Before it opens to the general public there will be a media, ‘sneak peak event,’ which will also be open to our membership on Wednesday, October 26. The following day, Thursday, October 27, the museum will host healthcare workers/first responders in Prince George for their selfless service over the past two years.
