Simon Yu will be the next mayor of Prince George.

Preliminary results of the Saturday’s municipal election have Yu with 6,092 votes. Former city councillor Terri McConnachie polled second with 4,152 votes. Roy Stewart was third with 2,424 votes, Adam Hyatt received 1,773 votes, Lisa Mitchell 553, and Christopher S. Wood 159 votes.

For council, all the incumbents seeking re-election were returned to office with Brian Skakun topping the polls with 9,370 votes. Joining him on council will be incumbents Garth Frizzell, Susan Scott, Cori Ramsay, Kyle Sampson. Newcomers to council are Tim Bennett, Ron Polillo, and Trudy Klassen.
