The Prince George Kodiaks Football Club have had two players selected to the BCFC All-Star Team.
From the offensive Line Will St. Hubert has been selected to the All-Star Team. Over on the defensive side of the ball Keon Raymond II was chosen as an all-star defensive back.
Wearing jersey #1, Keon Raymond II joined the Kodiaks after playing for the Junior College (JUCO) of Highland Community College in Highland, Kansas. He joined the Kodiaks this season with high expectations to be a team leader on the defence. This season he has proven that and more. With one game to go he has amassed 32 tackles, four assisted tackles, one sack, one fumble recovery, one forced fumble and one interception that was returned for a touchdown.
If there is a defensive stat tracked, you can sure Keon pretty much has something in that column. Keon is also a notable punt and kick off returner showcasing that he can also do things with ball. He has returned 24 punts for 324 yards and one he brought back to the house for a Kodiaks touchdown. On kickoff Raymond has returned 9 kicks for another 136 yards.
Head Coach Keon Raymond says: “Keon has been the ultimate play-maker for us this season and voted as team captain. He is a savvy player with good instincts and never shies away from the big moment. His play this season has garnered him as one of the best players in the country. As a coach it’s a pleasure to have him on our team, as a dad I’m just so proud of him of what he has been able to accomplish thus far.”
Will St. Hubert has been a force to be reckoned with on the offensive line for a while now. Will played previously for the GTA Grizzlies of the Ontario Football Conference before becoming a BCFC All-Star last year with the VI Raiders. While with the Kodiaks, #75 has continued to showcase his dominance on the all-important offensive line. Stats are not kept for the line like they are for other positions, however Will has been important factor in the success of the Kodiaks having amassed over 2000+ net offensive yards so far this season.
For a young team it is important to have had a solid lineman and leader in Will St. Hubert to shore up the offensive line and this All-Star selection is a clear indication of the work he has put into the season.
Coach Raymond has high praise for Will: “Will has been a solid addition to our young offensive line this season. His dominant play and leadership on the field has made him a standout this season. He is a big physical player with all the tools to succeed at the next level. I believe we will see him playing on the weekends for one of your favourite CFL teams.”
