Police looking for witnesses to Monday’s fatal crash on Hart Highway

One person is dead following a two-vehicle crash on the Hart Highway Monday and police are asking for any witnesses to contact them.

The crash occurred at 4 p.m. Monday at Weisbrod Road. Investigators have since determined that a blue Pontiac Torrent crossed the centre median and collided with a logging truck.

“The driver of the Pontiac Torrent did not survive the incident, while the single passenger was transported to hospital in critical condition,” said Cpl. Jennifer Cooper, Media Relations Officer for the Prince George RCMP. “The driver of the logging truck was not seriously injured. Police closed the highway for several hours while an RCMP collision reconstructionist attended to gather evidence from the area.”

To further the investigation, police are looking to speak with any witnesses to this incident that were not spoken to on Monday night. Investigators are also asking that if anyone has dash cam footage of the incident, they call the non-emergency line at 250-561-3300 to speak with an investigator.
