Margaret Lafontaine

UPDATE: Lafontaine has been located and is safe.

Prince George RCMP is asking the public to help them locate 19-year-old Margaret Lafontaine.

Lafontaine last spoke with friends on September 20 around 11 p.m. and has not been seen or heard from since. Margaret Lafontaine is described as:

  • Indigenous female
  • 160 cm (5’3”)
  • 48 kg (105 lb)
  • Brown eyes
  • Black hair
  • Hair is now chin-length
  • Last seen wearing a black jacket and pink shirt

Lafontaine was last seen near the 3600-block of the Hart Highway in the evening of September 20. It is possible that she may have left town, but friends and family are unable to confirm this information. Lafontaine is known to frequent the downtown area of Prince George. She does not have a cell phone with her.

“Margaret’s family is very concerned for her well-being as it is unusual for her not to contact her family for this length of time. Investigators are asking that anyone with any information on Margaret or her whereabouts please contact the Prince George RCMP non-emergency line by calling 250-561-3300, or contact their local police detachment,” said Cpl. Jennifer Cooper, media spokesperson for the Prince George RCMP.
