Man caught breaching his conditions twice in one week

On September 2, Prince George RCMP began an investigation into a possible breach of conditions by a known offender. During the course of the investigation, the offence was confirmed and the man, identified as Jason Rochard Zoet, was arrested and held in custody until he could attend court. Zoet was subsequently given a release order and returned to the community.

“With concern for public safety in mind, a multi-unit team was created, consisting of police officers from our General Investigative Section, Sex-Crimes Unit and Street Crew Unit,” said Cpl. Jennifer Cooper, Media Relations Officer for the Prince George RCMP. “The investigators used a variety of strategies to monitor if Mr. Zoet was breaching his conditions.”

On September 6, the team located Zoet once again breaching his court ordered conditions. Police officers arrested Jason Zoet and held him in custody until he could attend court.

The B.C. Prosecution Service approved the following charges in these matters:

  • Three counts of failing to comply with probation
  • Two counts of failing to comply with release order
  • Indecent act

Jason Zoet will remain in custody until his next court appearance. These matters remain under investigation.
