Motorcyclist killed in crash near Haldi Road

One man is dead following a crash between a motorcycle and a pickup truck on Highway 16 West Tuesday.

The accident occurred shortly after 6 p.m. July 27 near Haldi Road.

“Sadly, the driver of the motorcycle did not survive his injuries,” said Cpl. Jennifer Cooper, Media Relations Officer for the Prince George RCMP. “Our thoughts are with the family members and friends of the victim in their time of mourning. Our RCMP Victim Services Unit is working closely with those affected by this event.”

Investigating officers were joined by a collision analyst from the Collision and Reconstruction Service. Highway 16 West was closed eastbound and westbound traffic was diverted down Haldi Lake Road for approximately four hours while police officers gathered information and spoke with witnesses.

The driver of the pickup truck was not seriously injured in the incident; he remained at the scene and is cooperating fully with the investigation.
