Cans for Kids fundraiser set for Saturday

Ness Lake Bible Camp’s annual Cans for Kids’ fundraiser is set for Saturday, May 28.  Come on down to the Nechako Bottle Depot from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and drop off your recyclables.  The Ness Lake Bible Camp team will be receiving, unloading, and sorting everything themselves so not only will you be helping send kids to camp, you won’t have to wait in line.

The Nechako Bottle Depot is generously matching funds raised during the event.  As well, milk jugs are returnable for money as well, so throw them in with your cans and bottles.

“Last year nearly 200 kids benefited from the Camper Sponsorship program.  Thanks to fundraisers and donations, kids who might otherwise have been unable to come weren’t left out,”  said Executive Director Dave Horton.

Every kid deserves to come to camp, and it has always been the priority to make camp accessible to all.  Fundraiser events are one of the ways camp is made available to everyone, by helping pay part or all of the fees for families that might not otherwise be able to afford to send their kids to camp.  Campers will enjoy a wide range of activities and new experiences all while building friendships in their cabins and activities.

“I can’t bottle up my excitement about this,” says Interim Program Director Hannah Norum.  “Events like this keep us from fizzling out.  Bring in your recycling so-da kids can come to camp.”
