Cops for Cancer Tour de North preparing for September ride

The Cops for Cancer Tour de North 2022 team kicked off the 21st season with a training ride in Prince George. In the months to come, these 22 first responder and community riders will be training and fundraising in their community to prepare for the seven-day Cops for Cancer Tour from September 14-20. Tour de North raises funds in support of pediatric cancer research and support programs like Camp Goodtimes.

Const. Rob Warren, a Prince George RCMP officer and 2022 Tour de North rider expressed his feelings about the day: “It’s nice to come out with everybody and meet the team for the first time. I’m looking forward to engaging the community and being part of the largest pediatric cancer fundraiser in the country – especially now that I’ve met Avery.”

Avery, an honourary member from Vanderhoof, came with his father and brother to cheer the team as they rode off on their first training ride. Avery faced a cancer diagnosis when he was two years old and benefitted from research advancements funded by the Canadian Cancer Society and Cops for Cancer.
