Person of interest in sex assault investigation surrenders to police

The man Prince George RCMP identified as a ‘person of interest’ in the investigation of a March 29 sexual assault has turned himself in.

“We thank the media and public for their assistance in spreading the information on our person of interest. Investigators arrested the suspect this morning and he will remain in custody until he can attend court. The man is cooperating fully with our police investigation,” said Cpl. Jennifer Cooper, media spokesperson for the Prince George RCMP.

The investigation remains ongoing.

Just after noon on Sunday, March 27, 2022, Prince George RCMP received a report of a sexual assault that occurred at a housing complex on the 2600 block of Recplace Drive earlier that morning. The victim was holding an open house at the location and was showing the unit to the male suspect. The woman reports the man came up behind her and touched her back before groping her. When the woman yelled out the man left the area on foot.
