The overnight snow is certainly wreaking havoc on the roads this morning.
Prince George RCMP are responding to multiple motor vehicle incidents due to this morning’s weather.
Shortly after 8 a.m., Prince George RCMP responded to a semi-trailer truck that crashed near Salmon Valley Road and the Hart Highway. No serious injuries have been reported in this incident; however, the semi-truck is completely blocking the highway in both directions. There is no alternate route. Expect delays for approximately two hours. Check DriveBC for updates.
Police responded to another motor vehicle incident reported shortly after 8:30 a.m. on the 6700-block of Cranbook Hill. Emergency Health Services transported one occupant of the vehicle to hospital with injuries, the extent of which are currently unknown. Multiple vehicles in the ditch in this area are slowing down traffic on both sides of Cranbrook Hill. Expect delays for several hours in this area, while emergency services work to clear the roads.
“We are urging drivers to slow down and use caution this morning, as our unexpected weather pattern has disrupted the usual morning commute,” said Cpl. Jennifer Cooper, media spokesperson for the Prince George RCMP. “The roads are unusually slick today and many people have already removed their winter tires, further complicating the issue.”
