A March 3 incident in the Hart has resulted in the arrest of three people known to police.
Shortly before 10 p.m. on Friday, March 3, the Prince George RCMP received a report of a vehicle heading into Prince George from Salmon Valley that matched the description of a vehicle recently involved in a shooting incident in Prince George. The suspect vehicle had twice failed to stop for Mackenzie RCMP.
Frontline police and members of the Street Crew Unit located the vehicle heading southbound on Highway 97 where it again failed to stop for police. Investigators caught up with the vehicle in the area of Monterey Road West and Erickson Street where the vehicle had stopped and police observed several people flee from the area.
A Police Dog Services Team joined in the search for the suspects and assisted investigators in locating three people in the area. Police arrested two suspects for flight from police and one suspect was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries; he was subsequently discharged after being medically cleared. The three suspects were released pending further investigation.
“These investigations are still ongoing. Police are continuing to determine if there is a linkage between this vehicle and the one seen on surveillance leaving the area of a recent shooting incident,”
said Cpl. Jennifer Cooper, media spokesperson for the Prince George RCMP.
