Goals from Kilian McGregor-Bennett, Luc Laylin, and Kolton Cousins, and an incredible performance from Aaron Trotter triumphed the Prince George Spruce Kings to a 3-1 victory over the Salmon Arm Silverbacks. Tonight’s win marks the Spruce Kings 19th straight game collecting a point, a team record.
PG: In the final minute of the opening period, Ty Gagno was able to spring the puck ahead to Kilian McGregor-Bennett who showed incredible speed up the right wing and raced to the goal and fired the puck through the wickets of Owen Say to give the Spruce Kings a late first period lead. McGregor-Bennett’s seventh of the year was assisted by Gagno at 19:25.

PG: The Spruce Kings found themselves on a 5 on 3 power-play, and they were able to convert. A Nick Rheaume shot was blocked, a Rowan Miller shot was stopped, and Luc Laylin got the rebound at the left side of the goal and put it by Say to double the Spruce Kings lead. Laylin’s 10th of the year was assisted by both Miller and Rheaume at 16:42.

SA: It was a massive offensive surge from the Silverbacks, and they were finally able to solve Aaron Trotter in the third. A Zack Smith shot in front of the goal got by Trotter to get the home side on the board. Smith’s third of the season was assisted by both Tucker Hartmann and Michael Ladyman at 11:22.
PG: With the Silverbacks net empty, they tried to leave their own zone, but the captain Kolton Cousins had other ideas, stripping the puck off the Salmon Arm defender and Cousins fired it into the empty net to make it 3-1. Cousins’ 15th of the season was unassisted at 18:40.
