Luke German’s first BCHL goal gives Spruce Kings victory in Salmon Arm

Late game heroics from Luke German propelled the Prince George Spruce Kings to a massive victory, defeating the league leading Salmon Arm Silverbacks by a 4-2 score.


 SA: In the final minutes of the opening frame, a shot inside the blue line from Zack Smith, redirected off the body of Noah Serdachny in tight and found its way by Aaron Trotter to give the Silverbacks the lead. Serdachny 22nd of the year was assisted by Smith at 17:39.

 PG: Nick Marciano carried the puck up the left wing into the attacking zone, showed tremendous patience and spotted Austin Fraser in the slot and Fraser wired home his 11th of the season to tie the game at one. The Fraser tally was assisted by just Marciano at 2:59.

PG: It was defenceman Nick Maricano who threw the puck to the goal from the left side, and the puck hit the body of Evan Fedele in tight and snuck by Owen Say to give the Spruce Kings the lead. Fedele’s second of the season was assisted by both Marciano and Austin Fraser at 9:43.

SA: In the later minutes of the second stanza, Simon Tassy came streaking down the left wing, and sizzled a wrist shot, top shelf by Aaron Trotter to tie the game at two. Tassy’s league leading 32nd of the season was assisted by Zack Smith at 14:39

 PG: With just over two minutes remaining the period, Nick Rheaume was able to stave off three Silverbacks, and the Spruce King forward spotted Luke German all alone in tight and German shovelled home his first BCHL goal by Owen Say to give PG a late lead. German’s first in the blue, red, and white was assisted by Rheaume at 17:56.

PG: In the final minute, with the Salmon Arm net empty, Kolton Cousins got the puck in his own zone and flipped the puck 200 feet into the empty net to put the nail in the coffin and made it 4-2. Cousins’ 14th of the year was unassisted at 19:22.
