The City of Prince George is encouraging businesses, organizations, and individuals with a passion for Prince George, the community, and the area to step forward with an expression of interest in obtaining the naming rights to the city’s new downtown aquatic centre.
The city recently launched a request for expressions of interest (RFEOI) application on the city website for entities who are interested in obtaining the naming rights to the new aquatic centre now under construction at the corner of Seventh Avenue and Dominion Street.
“Prince George’s new aquatic facility will be a highly visible and attractive centerpiece for the whole downtown area,” said City Manager Walter Babicz, in a news release. “Downtown Prince George hosts outdoor events all year long to draw residents and visitors to the many shops and restaurants downtown. All of this activity will bring even more prominence and exposure to the brand of the successful respondent. This is a rare and valuable branding opportunity and the city is looking to secure an outstanding partner for a long-term, mutually beneficial relationship.”
This $35 million project was approved by the community in a 2017 referendum by a vote of 62.5 per cent in favour.
Citizens or organizations who are interested in partnering with the City of Prince George in this outstanding opportunity are encouraged to visit the city website today to learn more and to submit their official expression of interest.
