The Exploration Place is closing its pop-up location in Pine Centre Mall from at 8 p.m. Thursday December 23 until at least January 4.
Given the growing threat of the COVID-19 omicron variant, and its inevitable spread into Prince George, keeping the temporary site open is simply too great a risk.
“We are not providing a defined, essential service at the mall pop-up location,” said Tracy Calogheros, CEO. “So the level of risk doesn’t make sense. By closing down our in person programming and retail in the face of this omicron threat, we are helping to protect our amazing health care workers, our community and our team.”
Please continue to mask and practice hand hygiene and make sure you get your vaccinations as soon as you are eligible as they are still the best layer of protection we have against COVID-19. “We are working towards a spring re-opening of the main museum site and hope to be opening our incoming national exhibit, ‘Trailblazing Women’ at the pop-up location in Pine Centre Mall in mid-January,” said Calogheros.
