Broken de-icing equipment grounds flights at Prince George airport

Broken-down de-icing equipment has grounded several flights at the Prince George Airport.

It has resulted in the grounding of any flights requiring de-icing at YXS until the equipment is replaced or repaired. Some flight activity may commence prior to repair if the weather improves.

The airport authority is unable comment further on the status of repairs as the equipment is not owned or operated by the airport.

“We are working closely with our airline partners to support them in resolving the situation,” according to a statement from the airport.
