After going down early in the third frame, a late goal from Kilian McGregor-Bennett, and an even later goal from the captain Kolton Cousins gave the Spruce Kings their third win in a row, defeating the Cranbrook Bucks by a 4-3 score on 1980’s night and Drop The Gloves and Sock It To Em’ night.
PG: 39 seconds into the hockey game, John Herrington spotted Kolton Cousins streaking up the left wing and Cousins went top corner to send the warm clothing onto the ice and to give the Spruce Kings the lead. Cousins 7th of the year was assisted by Herrington.
PG: On a Spruce King power-play, Dylan Schives got a feed from Simon Labelle and Schives’ point shot was tipped in front by Rowan Miller to double the Spruce King lead. Miller’s 11th of the season was assisted by both Schives and Labelle at 5:32.
CRA: 35 seconds after Miller’s goal, the Bucks were able to answer. A shot from Tyson Dyck found its way off a body and through the legs of Aaron Trotter made it 2-1. Dyck’s team leading 13th of the year was assisted by both Johnny Johnson and Kellan Hjartarson at 6:07.
CRA: A few moments later, on a delayed call, Kellan Hjartarson was able to sneak home his seventh of the year to tie the game at two. Hjartarson’s seventh of the season was assisted by both Bauer Morrissey and Tyson Dyck at 10:56.

CRA: Just over a minute into the period on a Bucks power-play, Dylan Schives blocked a one timer and the puck ended finding Tyson Dyck in tight to give the Bucks an early third period lead. Dyck’s second of the night and 14th of the year had the helpers credited to Jarrod Smith and Rhys Bentham at 1:26.
PG: After a ton of pressure from the Spruce Kings, they were finally able to capitalize. A shot from Ben LeFranc went off the end boards behind the goal and the puck ricocheted to Kilian McGregor-Bennett at the left side of the goal and tucked it in to tie the game. McGregor-Bennett’s third of the year was assisted by both LeFranc and Colton Cameron at 13:02.
PG: In the final minutes of the third on a PG power-play, Nick Marciano showed tremendous patience at the blueline, carried it to the left circle and spotted Kolton Cousins in tight, and the captain made no mistake and went top shelf to send the 1,000 fans at the RMCA into a frenzy. Cousins’ second of the night and 7th of the year was assisted by both Marciano and Luc Laylin at 15:05.
