Every year, The Salvation Army in Prince George is honoured to journey with some of the most vulnerable households and families through the Christmas season by providing a Christmas hamper. This year, the need has increased to record levels.
To date, The Salvation Army here in Prince George has already surpassed the number of applications that it completed for the entire Christmas season in 2020 – and there are still three weeks to go before the application deadline closes. Salvation Army personnel are hearing stories of how families are feeling the crunch of ongoing COVID-19 pandemic-response challenges, rising food costs, and housing cost increases. The Salvation Army’s goal is to continue to meet these increasing requests for support, but it cannot do it alone.
A direct and meaningful way that you can help to meet the need is through our Adopt-A-Family program. The program matches incoming applicants with community donors to acquire the specific needs of the applicant by the community donor. The Salvation Army then coordinates with each donor to distribute the Adopt-A-Family support to the assigned family with the help of the Rotary Clubs of Prince George.
